The Blurs (The Null-Signatures), are the people who have opted out or lost their access. Because the Aura Lens doesn't have a profile to "skin" over their bodies, the algorithm doesn't know how to render them. They appear as low-resolution or as flickering glitches. Their faces are smeared like a smudge on a lens and their voices sound like compressed static. To a "Glowy" looking at a Blurred causes physical nausea and headaches.
The Shadows (The Targeted Threats), are people that got tagged as a "Criminal" or a "Threat". Their digital presence is no longer just blurry, but as a dark humanoid void and jagged silhouettes that seem to "suck the light" out of the AR environment. They look like living holes. This is an effective tool for control. By turning the capture into a game, the Tyrant ensures a low level of rebels.
Capturing or reporting a shadow immediate grants a massive "Glow-Boost" and give them enough digital credits to live in luxury for at least a week.
